Fattoria Zerbina

Emilia-Romagna, Italy

Founded in 1966 by Vincenzo Geminiani and now led by his granddaughter Cristina Geminiani, Fattoria Zerbina stands at the forefront of Emilia-Romagna’s modern wine renaissance. Rooted in the hills of Marzeno, the estate has become a reference point for expressive, terroir-driven wines made from native grapes, particularly Sangiovese and Albana, crafted with both precision and daring intent.

Cristina’s pioneering work with high-density alberello training and her commitment to site-specific expression shine across the range. From the vibrant fruit and clarity of Ceregio Rosso and Bianco di Ceparano, to the structure and poise of Torre di Ceparano and Marzieno, and the distinct voice of Poggio Vicchio, each wine reflects a singular place and an unwavering belief: “To achieve quality, shortcuts don’t count. All the more when it comes to wine.”

‘A lifted, pretty nose reveals floral notes, earthy undertones, and a hint of curry leaf and dusty spice. Light and elegant on the palate, with flavors of cherry hard candy that balance seamlessly with savory elements. Tannins build to a crescendo on the finish, where warm spices like cinnamon and allspice add a lingering, spicy lift.’
