Pierre Chainier

Loire Valley, France

This family business was passed down from father to son, evolving ever so slightly with each new generation, until in the 1980s when Paul Buisse took the reins. Working first as a wine merchant, Paul built a solid reputation for his wines. In 1989, he purchased vineyards in the Touraine appellation, thus founding the Paul Buisse estate.

Today, Pierre Chainier and his family continue where Paul left off with the same passion, beginning a new chapter in the story of the Paul Buisse Winery. Pioneers in sustainable farming, the Chainier family were among the first to employ green practices in the region. Consequently, vineyards are maintained according to a sustainable agriculture philosophy with the overall ecosystem in mind. The vision of the Chainier family remains consistent with the mission started by their predecessors — to bring knowledge and experience to their work, embracing their love of the Loire Valley and its soil.
