“It was one of the great success stories of German Pinot Noir when the young talent Benedikt Baltes took over the winery of the city of Klingenberg am Main and immediately caused a huge sensation with his first bottlings. The style was extremely unusual for Germany: released early, almost a bit extremist, correspondingly low in alcohol, pushing the soil expression, cool, racy and strongly reductive in youth. Baltes has since moved to the Ahr and the winery renamed Steintal, however Baltes has remained with the company as an oenological consultant and the rest of the team is now continuing Steintal unchanged in the same style.”

“Toe-tapping energy. Mouth-watering refreshment, finishing sharp and precise.”
